PLAYER OF THE YEAR COMPETITION STARTS MARCH 1ST
Played over 30 weeks starting on Thursday March 1st and ending on Wednesday September 26th. Each week the players are ranked according to their absolute best score on any course separated by Total Accumulated GTPs. They are awarded points as per the table below.
After the 30 Regular Season events the top 64 players enter a PLAYOFF SEASON beginning on Monday October 1st and ending on Sunday October 28th.

How Points are Distributed This table shows the specific number of GT LIVE POTY points awarded to each position in a standard Regular Season event.
How The Playoffs WorkAt the conclusion of the Regular Season, each player's points total determines his position, or "seed," going into the GT LIVE POTY PLAYOFFS. All points will be "reset" for the Playoffs, as shown below. The top 64 players will be eligible.

The playoffs will feature a progressive cut through the first three weeks. Week 1 will have 64 players, week 2 will have 54 players, week 3 will have 44 players and the Grand Final round will have 32 players. Points are awarded in the Playoffs according to the table below. The Grand Final week awards more points per position due to the smaller 32-player field.
